With years of experience in both family practice and as a midwife I have had the privilege of working with thousands of patients. Whether it is helping a new baby safely into this world, working to discover the root cause of stomach pain, or holding a hand while emotional and psychological issues are dealt with – my role is one of a companion and guide along your health journey. I decided to start a career in healthcare after losing a close family member to cancer. The experience of fighting cancer in our current healthcare system was eye opening. I found my loved one forced into the role of “patient” – disempowered, vulnerable, and scared. After that experience I became determined to be part of the solution. I am passionate about empowering patients to become active participants in their own health. I strive to meet you where you are, to help you set your own goals for where you want to be (mentally and physically), and then work on achieving those goals together. As a mother to 3 kids, my life is anything but boring! Along with the countless humbling challenges that motherhood brings, so too come some of the happiest (and silliest!) moments. We can normally be found digging in the dirt attempting to grow some of our own food, hiking down a trail breathing the forest air, or traveling to see as many of earth’s wonders as possible. I speak intermediate Spanish and am beginning to learn Portuguese.
